Statistics plays an important role in clinical research, especially cardiovascular research, and I have been privileged to contribute towards the education of clinicians at all stages of their career. My contributions in this area include the following:
Up until 2018, I was an Assistant Editor for the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EJCTS) and the Interactive CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery (ICVTS), where I reviewed over 1000 papers.
I have been a regular speaker and moderator at the annual EACTS Conference Research Sessions since 2015. Slides from all of my platform presentations are available here.
Between 2017-18, I served as Guest Associate Editor of the EJCTS and ICVTS with Dr Stuart J. Head, where we jointly edited a series of statistical primer articles submitted for publication. See the Editorial article here. A full list of published papers in this series is available here for the EJCTS and here for the ICVTS.
I have delivered short workshops and talks to clinicians on medical statistics, with an emphasis on the balance between understanding the methodology and practical application. Slides from all of my talks are available here.
